NYS Floodplain and Stormwater Managers Association Conference presentation

Presentation at the NYS Floodplain & Stormwater Managers Association conference.

The Hudson Valley Flood Resilience Network was well-represented at the April 28-30 New York State Floodplain and Stormwater Managers Association (NYSFSMA) Conference in Utica, NY. NYSFSMA brings together New York State professionals to foster awareness, information exchange and cooperation in the floodplain and stormwater management fields.

Emily Vail, Executive Director of the H‌udson River Watershed Alliance, provided a plenary presentation focused on how the Flood Resilience Network has brought municipal leaders and partner organizations together for peer learning, networking, and training since its founding in 2018. We discussed how the 2023 Strategic Roadmap set our course, the Network's unique structure, innovative programs that were launched in 2025, and how we're measuring impact.

Jessica Kuonen, New York Sea Grant, also shared Flood Resilience Network lessons learned at the conference's panel discussion on Regional Approaches to Promoting Flood Resilience for NYS Communities.

The Hudson River Watershed Alliance and New York Sea Grant are co-facilitators of the Hudson Valley Flood Resilience Network.
