Flood Resilience Network Clearwater Speaker Sail

On November 2, the Hudson River Watershed Alliance and New York Sea Grant presented about the Hudson Valley Flood Resilience Network on board the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater's last sail of the season, as part of Clearwater's Speaker Sail series.

Sailing from Kingston, they shared information on Hudson River flooding and how communities are adapting to more frequent floods with a full boat of 45 people. It was a brisk and beautiful day on the Hudson River!

Jessica Kuonen, Hudson Estuary Specialist, New York Sea Grant, and Emily Vail, Executive Director, Hudson River Watershed Alliance, discussed how flood risk is increasing throughout the Hudson Valley. They shared ways that communities are meeting these challenges to adapt to a changing climate and improve their local flood resilience, including connecting through the Hudson Valley Flood Resilience Network.
